Toddler yoga

Toddler yoga is a fun introduction to yoga. These simple stretching poses has been proven to improve flexibility as well as reducing anxiety, frustration whilst instilling calmness. The yoga class can develop their listening skill, ability to follow instruction and maintain attention.

Yoga inspired moves based on Hatha yoga, the union of balance, body and mind. Practicing regular yoga can improve children’s muscle development, spatial awareness and concentration.

The children will be shown breathing techniques through a fun way, which helps improves circulation, focus and can aid them to self-soothe when feeling frustrated or anxious.

Whilst following a theme or a story, we practice a selection gentle yoga moves and poses, with encouragement of the parent or carer to perform the move.  The routine, together with songs and stretches, makes the session a fun mini workout. The session would end with sensory play and relaxation.

Small yoga mats are provided for the children to use. This encourages them to stay within their own space and to stay on their own mat. Each child would be encouraged to participate as much as they can, and over time they will become more familiar with moves.

Classes take place in my home garden room with a limited number. This makes it more comfortable and easier for the children and parent, reducing noise and distraction. The room is welcoming, clean, warm and safe. Yoga can be practiced in their usual clothes on, with just the removal of shoes. No need to commit to a course, classes will be pay-as-you-go, but places would need to be pre-booked and paid for.
